I'm so happy to have connected with this dental team following our move! Hannah, my hygienist, was most likely the best hygienist I've ever had, and I'm not a young chicken. Well I'm not really a chicken, I probably wouldn't be writing this review if I were a chicken. Dr. Whitley was amazing as well! The staff at the front desk were super friendly, and most helpful. She didn't even get mad that the readers she lent me to use, broke. In all seriousness, if you are looking for a new dental practice that exemplifies professionalism, and state-of-the-art care in a super friendly environment, East Carolina Dental is the GOAT. Thank you, guys!

Fantastic office. The receptionist went out of her way to make sure I got an appointment today and the nurse and doctor were awesome. They didn't waist any time, removed the bad teeth, saved me some money and made sure I was okay. The receptionist, nurse and dentists were very authentic when it comes to being compassionate and caring. They are beautiful people. I would recommend this dental office to anyone.

I recently went to Eastern Carolina Dental & had a refreshingly amazing time there! (*Not adjectives usually synonymous with dental offices!) The nurse was absolutely amazing, had a wonderful reassuring bedside manner, made me feel so comfortable about being there, & the dentist was just as cordial. He didn’t try to push anything on me, & they didn’t over exaggerate any issues I had like my last place did. Their office was homey too, & they were even so apologetic due to the dentist not being able to rush right over (because of a crying kid that I heard them treating so sweetly). I left with my questions answered, feeling confident about myself, having a beautifully whitened smile from the teeth-cleaning, a little goody bag of supplies, & a renewed outlook on dentistry. It was nice! (*in fact, I might just copy that & write them a review!)

Been going there for years with my family. They’d rather lose 3 regulars than $50 over a misunderstanding on confirmation of appointment. Called 2hrs after the needed time and explained I didn’t realize I needed to reconfirm. The original appointment time was deleted and booked with someone else but I understood and we rebooked for the next day. Instead of being decent and understanding they honed down on the $50 cancellation fee of an appointment I never cancelled just didn’t realize I needed to reconfirm.

They were able to get me in at the last minute. They all treated me wonderfully. The chaos coordinator was really helpful and treated me great. I have had bad experiences with dentists in the past, so I was not comfortable with this procedure.I saw Dr McKinney , he pulled my tooth with very little discomfort. His assistant explained everything to me and put me at ease. I would recommend this Dr to everyone!

This was my first visit to their office. Based on this I highly recommend. Their staff was so helpful and friendly from the first call I made to inquire about services, answered my questions honestly. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and welcoming warm greeting. The waiting room actually the entire office was quiet and peaceful. It didn’t feel rushed or crowed. They got me in on time, no real wait time. The exam was thorough and all portions of it and what they saw during it was discussed with/explained to me in a way that was easy to understand and pointed out on my X-ray as the dentist different options were discussed and an itemized breakdown of services needed and estimated cost and for each phase. That was also gone through with me line by line. I was advised of a payment plan option I could apply for. I was also very pleased that the dentist asked me if I had any questions before he left the room. My cleaning appointment was able to be scheduled before I left the dental chair and after meeting with the billing staff and going over treatment plan and costs I scheduled my next appointment.

I had a wonderful experience at this dental office! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, professional, and kind. My cleaning was thorough and everything was explained clearly, which made me feel comfortable and informed. I truly appreciated the care and attention to detail. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dental team that makes you feel at ease while providing excellent service!

Hanna is my dental hygienist and she is amazing! So intelligent, skilled and thorough and also kind, caring and personable. Dr Joseph Hewitt is the same….super personable, positive and a skilled professional. The ladies at the reception desk are warm, caring and professional as well. Very good experience here for the past 48 years! I actually look forward to going to the dentist!
