I had my wisdom teeth removed here, and this was one of the most upsetting medical experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve been a patient of this office for years and have always had positive experiences, which is why this experience was so shocking. When I arrived for my appointment, I was immediately asked whether I had taken medication before coming in. No one had ever told me I needed to pick up or take any medication beforehand. I was then asked whether someone named “Michael” had called me the day before with instructions. I never received a call and had no idea who Michael was, so from the very beginning it felt like there had been a breakdown in communication. Once I was in the procedure room, the oral surgeon told me they needed me awake enough during the extraction to follow instructions, such as turning my head or moving my tongue if necessary. Those were the last words I remember hearing. I woke up approximately four hours later in my apartment with blood coming from my mouth and no memory whatsoever of the procedure or how I got home. I later learned that only two of my four wisdom teeth had been removed. After surgery, I was sent home with nothing more than gauze in a Ziploc bag. I wasn’t given prescriptions, meaningful written post-operative instructions, or clear guidance on how to care for myself. I was left trying to recover through significant pain while also trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. While I was still under sedation, the receptionist/office manager told my mother she was going to charge the credit card they had on file. My mother, who was there as my designated caregiver, wasn’t comfortable with my card being charged while I was unconscious, especially after only two of the four planned extractions had been completed, and told her so. According to my mom, the receptionist argued with her about it. Then, after the procedure, everything changed. Instead of collecting payment, the staff repeatedly told my mother that I was “really sick,” urged her to get me home as quickly as possible, and told her to “call back later to pay.” That abrupt change in attitude left both of us confused. What has disappointed me most is what happened afterward. I emailed the office with genuine questions about my recovery, the anesthesia, and the lack of aftercare instructions. More than 96 hours later, no one had responded. No one checked on my recovery, answered my questions, or provided any explanation. I’m not claiming malpractice or suggesting anyone intentionally harmed me. There may be valid explanations for why only two teeth were removed or why my sedation experience was different than I expected. My issue is the complete lack of communication before, during, and after the procedure. No patient should wake up hours later with no memory of what happened, no meaningful aftercare instructions, and then have their concerns ignored. I hope the office reviews what happened so future patients don’t have a similar experience. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.
Best dental experience I've had in years! From the moment I walked in, the staff was professional, kind, and welcoming. The office was spotless, and the music made for a relaxing atmosphere. Dr. Castro has an incredible bedside manner. She listened with genuine compassion as I shared my past experiences with the dentist, and she made me feel completely at ease. Her assistant, Ms. K (who has such a beautiful name!), was equally wonderful—friendly, caring, and attentive throughout my visit. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dental team that truly cares about their patients!
I came in as a new patient and everyone has been really attentive. From the front desk, the dental assitants, to the doctors, they are all hardworking and very helpful. This is the best dental practice I've experienced.
I had a wonderful experience at Sacramento Dentistry Group — if I could give them 10 stars, I would! As a nervous patient who has had bad experiences in the past, I was worried there would be judgment or a lack of empathy. Instead, I experienced the complete opposite. Fabiola and Dr. K were absolutely wonderful. They were kind, understanding, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quick yet impeccable their work was. Their professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail truly stood out. I highly recommend Sacramento Dentistry Group to anyone, especially those who feel anxious about going to the dentist!
Friendly and professional! The office is in Alkalai Flat near Light Rail. Immaculate front office & waiting room (lovely artwork & free chilled water), exam stations, and restroom. The staff are all knowledgeable, courteous, and kind. The technicians and Dr. K. are just wonderful! I’ve had no discomfort at all during X-rays, cleanings, and exams. My questions are encouraged and answered. Many thanks, and I’ll be back in 6 mos.!
